Genesis 1: 28. In this verse God instructs Adam on how he should approach his work on earth. God tells him 5 things. Adam must Be Fruitful, and Multiply, and Replenish the earth, and Subdue it, and finally have Dominion over everything on the earth. In giving Adam this instruction, God also put in place the same process for his descendants. In John 15: 5 Jesus tells us that when we abide in Him, we will bear much fruit. Jesus also tells us that without Him we can do nothing. Abiding in Christ can only come about by being obedient to the word of God. This in turn will enable us to be abundantly fruitful, which will then lead to the ability to multiply what God has given to us.
